Hi, I’m Ryne
I am an interdisciplinary humanities scholar and educator whose work focuses on American history, culture, religion, and the U.S. South. I hold a PhD in Religious Studies, and my research combines archival inquiry, public humanities, and cultural analysis with particular attention to questions of place, memory, power, and social change.
I am also an experienced teacher, with nearly a decade of undergraduate instruction across religious studies, philosophy, ethics, and interdisciplinary humanities courses. In the classroom, I emphasize critical historical thinking, close reading, ethical reflection, analytical writing, and discussion-based learning. My teaching encourages students to engage thoughtfully with historical and contemporary questions while developing the interpretive and communication skills necessary for active civic and intellectual life.
