Hi, I’m Ryne
I am a scholar of religion who studies the intersections of religion, race, and place in the Americas, with a particular focus on the history of the U.S. South and eastern North Carolina. I hold a PhD in Religious Studies, and my work combines archival research and theoretical rigor with close attention to questions of place and power.
I am also an experienced teacher, with nearly a decade of undergraduate teaching across religious studies, philosophy, and related fields. In the classroom, I emphasize critical historical thinking, ethical reflection, and the relevance of religious history to contemporary social and environmental questions.
